Development of a new township named Greater Bareilly has been proposed by the Bareilly Development Authority by purchasing about 240 hectares of land.
Name of Villages Under Greater Bareilly
This township is located in Eight villages Mohanpur alias Ramnagar, Ahirola, Doharia, Kanthari, Navdia Jhada, Walipur Ahmedpur, Kachaili and Itauwa Beniram, between Ramganga Nagar Residential Scheme, Bisalpur Road and Bada Bypass.
World class infrastructure facilities will be provided to the residents of this township. In order to attract the investments of big companies, Cyber City for software companies, plots for various technical institutes, research institutes, hotels, multiplexes, colleges and hospitals etc. are being developed in this township.
Through the development of Greater Bareilly Township, the residents of Bareilly and surrounding districts will get an opportunity to buy residential and commercial properties with all the facilities and the investment of big national and international companies will encourage employment generation on a large scale.
For the development of Greater Bareilly, land is being purchased through mutual consent from the farmers. Mutual consent has also been given for the sale of land by most of the farmers related to the project. Land for the project is being purchased from farmers on the basis of four times the circle rate.
About Rs.1400 crore will be paid by the Bareilly Development Authority to the farmers for the assets located on the land included in the project. Deeds of land for the project have been started today from 30-01-2023.
Today, the registry of Gata No.-471 of village Ramnagar alias Mohanpur and Gata No.-02 of Ahirola was executed by the land owner in favor of the authority.
Bareilly Development Authority is trying on a war footing to execute the deed from all the land owners within three months. After that, registration and allotment of plots will be started after developing Greater Bareilly on a large scale.
Number of Residential Plots in Greater Bareilly
Sector-16 and Sector-26 will be developed in the first phase of this scheme. The details of residential/commercial plots available for registration/allotment in the above two sectors are as follows:-

In this way, in the first phase of the Greater Bareilly Housing Scheme, the registration/allotment of about 1700 residential/commercial plots will be opened soon by the Bareilly Development Authority keeping in view the needs of the general public.
Bareilly Development Authority had launched Ramganga Nagar housing scheme in village Chandpur Bichpuri of Bithri Chainpur block in year 2004 .It offered BDA Approved Plots . For this, Development Authority acquired 279 hectares of land . There were 12 sectors to be built namely

Work in Ramganga Nagar gained momentum 1.5 years ago. With the allotment of plots, the settlement started increasing in the colony. There is still work to be done on seven sectors. After the completion of this colony .
BDA will give Compensation four times the value of the land
There is a plan to establish a new colony in the name of Greater Bareilly, which will be adjacent to Ramganga Colony. BDA teams are contacting the farmers of Mohanpur and nearby villages. Farmers are being assured to pay four times the circle rate. According to BDA, farmers will be given up to Rs 80 lakh per hectare. It is being said that most of the farmers are ready to give the land.

There will be a branch of the world class hospital in Greater Bareilly. Work will be done to boost IT Sector in Greater Bareilly. There will be facilities like mall, cinema hall, super market, swimming pool and park along with modern sports ground and coach facilities. The colony will have four modern and attractive gates. Foreign companies will also be invited to provide employment to the youth. Officials claim that Greater Bareilly will be a complete city in itself.
According to the Vice Chairman of Bareilly Vikas Pradhikaran Mr. Joginder Singh , Greater Bareilly will be set up on about 240 hectares of land in Mohanpur and surrounding villages. It will be an Independent city in itself, where every facility will be provided to the people. Preparation for acquisition of land is underway. Most of the farmers have agreed to give the land.
